Yet another SCOMathon done and dusted! What started as an initiative born out of the need to connect and share knowledge in the period where live events were impossible, has now blossomed into a staple within the SCOM community.
This year, we had 26 insightful sessions and 3 expert panel discussions covering everything from the place of SCOM in the modern monitoring landscape, to the possibility of extending SCOM into the Cloud, the much-anticipated SCOM 2022, interesting use cases, best practices and much more.
Hundreds of SCOManiacs turned up and 26 experts shared their knowledge!
Thanks to you lot, we managed to raise a total of $4,223 for the British Red Cross Ukraine Fund. Cheers to GripMatix and NiCE for sharing in the donation contributions with us. Hurray!
If you missed out on any of the sessions, not to worry, we will be making all of the session recordings available to view for free. Stay tuned!
Here are our 3 keynote sessions that you most definitely don’t want to miss. We will be adding the recordings to this page as soon as they are available.
By Stoyan Chalakov, Microsoft MVP and Senior IT Consultant
By Ankur Gupta, Microsoft
By Richard Benwell, Founder CEO at SquaredUp
And here are the top 3 most attended sessions. As always, we’re giving out our SCOMathon community badges. The presenters of these sessions each won a Crowd Puller badge!
Kevin Greene presented ‘Monitoring in a modern Microsoft world – where do you start?’ and won Gold.
Ankur Guptar presented the EMEA Keynote mentioned above ‘SCOM 2022 and Roadmap from the SCOM Product Group’ and won Silver.
Video embedded above.
Dieter Wijckmans presented ‘Deploy SCOM right, first time!’ and won Bronze.
Good job to all presenters – the SCOM Community appreciates your contribution!
Of course, we have also prepared a host of SCOMathon community badges for attendees. Keep an eye on your inbox to see if you’ve earned any! 😉
Of course, lots more juicy SCOM knowledge awaits! The recordings of all the sessions will be made available to view here. Also, if you haven’t already, don’t forget to join our SCOMathon Slack channel, a live discussion hub where you can connect with your fellow SCOManiacs and tap into the hive mind as and when you need.
In other exciting news… we announced that HackaSCOM is back for a second year! If you’re new to the event, HackaSCOM 2022 combines a conventional hackathon with SCOM to bring together some of the greatest SCOM experts in a head-to-head 24-hour challenge. In other words, it is the ultimate MP authoring showdown. Set over two days on November 29-30, our contestants will build an idea put forth by the SCOM Community. Are you up for the challenge? Take on fellow SCOM enthusiasts, sign up here now!
As we celebrate yet another awesome SCOMathon, we’d like to thank our awesome sponsors: NiCE, OpsLogix, GripMatix, TopQore, Silect, Teqwave, ProtectOrg and Microsoft. None of this would’ve been possible without their support!
And of course, we cannot be more grateful to the SCOM Community and all of its knowledgeable experts for taking the time to come together in this big knowledge sharing initiative. We hope you have learnt plenty!
What the attendees had to say:
Scheduled Tuning? Didn’t even know it existed. SCOMATHON just paid for itself 🙂
Good stuff there!
Thank you for an awesome event – the future is coming and it looks good for SCOM as long as you are prepared to give it some effort 😀 Special thanks to Cookdown and all presenters
Awesome job as always Bob. Thanks for the info
Nice one Bob – very informative session buddy 🙂
Nice set of examples of how to tune! Using names on websites and databases and such, or registry keys, or easytune… so many options. Creativity works!
Thank you for a great session 🙂
We say “Richness” of SCOM – I have a colleague whose job title is “De-cloudification Expert’ – And suddenly SCOM is (re)appearing… Sometimes I wonder… if he’s ahead of the game?
Well done as always, thx
You get a badge, YOU get a badge. EVERYONE gets a badge! 😉
Awesome future for SCOM!
Another year, another awesome SCOMATHON! Thank you Bruce!
And that’s all for SCOMathon 2022 folks! Stay in touch, keep on SCOM-ing, and we’ll see you at HackaSCOM 2022!
