We came, we saw, we SCOM-quered.
Another year, another hugely successful SCOMathon. This year, our growing SCOM community gathered for a day of sessions, discussions, and insights from the world’s leading experts.
Like last year, Gather was our home again for nine hours, where we were joined by attendees and speakers from all over the world.

This year, Asteria Consulting and Gripmatix joined us in raising money for SpecialEffect – a charity that enable people with severe physical disabilities to use technology for communication and leisure. In total, we raised $6752. This staggering amount was partly generated by attendance, so we want to thank everyone who attended the sessions – this money will have a hugely positive impact, funding vital initiatives and supporting the continued growth and success of the SpecialEffect cause.

Before we cover the session recordings, we thought we’d share the post-event survey results that were sent out after the event. This was the community’s opportunity to feedback to us and gave us some really valuable insight.
Best thing about SCOMathon?
“Find out about new stuff and SCOM direction”
“Great concept, will try and interact next time this being my first time here I didn’t know anybody … AND I will set time off to attend more concentrated … was on and off during my workday, next time from home for sure.”
“Chance to hear from others and get ideas that we might implement.”
“The possibility of receiving training or information on monitoring.”
Best session of the day

So, which session got the top ratings? The votes were counted and in first place came Bob “SCOM Bob” Cornelissen and his talk on “Battle of the SCOMs – determining your SCOM monitoring journey in the future“.
In second place, was Stoyan Chalakov with his crash course, “Troubleshooting the key SCOM infrastructure components“. And Jan Pettersson took bronze with “Managing SCOM the Powershell way.”
Well done to Bob, Stoyan, and Jan – as well as everyone else who took part. You can see the sessions below.
